Investigators searching for person of interest after man found dead inside a freezer

Jackson County investigators are piecing together evidence after a body was found inside of a freezer in a Latimer home.
During a press conference today, Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell told media that they are now hunting a person of interest.
According to Sheriff Ezell, the victim and the person of interest are both males and could have been roommates in the home they were renting.
The homeowner told investigators the last time he saw the man was on March 3rd and investigators have obtained video from a Dollar General that shows the man wearing the same clothes he was found dead in. Sheriff Ezell says the victim’s 2001 gold Cadillac is missing.
U.S. Marshals are assisting in locating the person of interest. Sheriff Ezell says they know who the victim is, but are withholding his identity until a family member is contacted.
Ezell also says the victim could have been dead for nearly two weeks, but a full autopsy will determine how he died and how long he had been dead.
If you have any information regarding this case call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department at 228-769-3065.
