Institute for Marine Mammal Studies provides an interactive experience

For over 35 years the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies has been providing Mississippi Gulf Coast residents with an interactive experience.

Their Ocean Adventures Marine Park gives you the experience you’ve been fishing for. There are many exhibits that let you see up close and touch these magnificent creatures that live in our waters.

There are many special programs available like diving with one of their three dolphins to swimming in a pool with stingrays and sharks.

You can also feed parakeets and touch starfish and horseshoe crabs in their touch pool.

With the Mississippi Aquarium now open, IMMS feels confident they will still draw in guests because of how different they are from one another. IMMS President Dr. Moby Solangi said, “We are a very interactive facility while they have a different approach to things. We also have a robust program for conservation research and education. We do a lot of rehabilitation of animals and we’ve been in this business for 30 to 40 years.”

The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies’ goal is not only to entertain, but to inform. They have programs for conservation and education and research of marine mammals and their environment.
