Ingalls Shipbuilding hosted hiring events in Harrison County

The largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi, Ingalls Shipbuilding is offering employment opportunities for those looking for work. Ingalls Shipbuilding is looking to fill positions for shipfitters, first class electricians, pipefitters, pipe welders, and structural welders. Anyone with or without experience is welcome to come and apply.

Today in six different Harrison County locations, Ingalls representatives interviewed potential employees, offered job assessments, and no-cost career training.

The hiring pop-up at the Win Job Center in Gulfport attracted high interest. Those interested came to apply from different cities of Southern Mississippi. Necaise Resident Alex Shaw said, “I got a couple buddies that go out there and work and they text me all the time telling me how it’s a good place to go, great experience, they do a lot of learning, different kind of pipe learning, welding, and stuff like that. I have a weld test Friday so hopefully I’ll go down there Friday and test and I’ll have a job soon.”
