Ingalls scores one hundred percent for LGBTQ equality
Huntington Ingalls Industries is rated best place to work for the LGBTQ Equality Human Rights Campaign.
Announced today, Ingalls scored one hundred percent on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2018 corporate national survey. The data collected stems from corporate practices ensuring work place equality for any employee that considers themselves lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer.
Huntington Ingalls President Mike Petters tells News 25 his company is focused on building a workforce culture where every employee is treated equally. “It’s a big step for us to be able to say that we understand that people come to us from all different kinds of backgrounds. We need all of your best ideas to continue to help our sailors at sea and that’s what is important to us.”
The survey evaluated non-discrimination work-place protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive healthcare benefits, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community.
