Inclusion Park officially open in Long Beach

The City of Long Beach is now home to a brand new inclusion park.

The park officially opened Thursday, July 25th and features ‘Mommy and Me and Daddy and Me’ swings that allow parents to hold their little ones while they enjoy the swings.

There is also a handicap swing where a child can drive their wheelchair onto a platform to swing.

Long Beach Director of Community Affairs Jenny Levens says this is an exciting time for the city. “It’s just important. Every person deserves to enjoy the park or the beach or whatever that everybody else gets to enjoy. We want to make sure everybody is included, that everybody can enjoy the park. Everybody can swing so we’re just really excited.”

State Representative Richard Bennett was instrumental in funding the inclusion park through a ‘new added recreational facilities’ grant.
