Humane Society’s ‘Rock ‘N Roll-Over’ Event

Eight special dogs were in the spotlight tonight at the Humane Society of South Mississippi’s ‘Rock N’ Roll-Over’ event.
From 7 to 10 p.m. at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, over 500 guests enjoyed a howlin’ good time. The event also benefits the 8,000 homeless pets the shelter takes in each year.
News 25’s Joe Sullivan showcased “Joe Cocker,” a four month old cocker spaniel.
Krystyna Schmitt with the Humane Society says this is a fun way to give eight dogs a permanent home. “We feature adoptable dogs that have come into the shelter and inevitably all of our adoptable dogs get adopted here tonight. Our bigger goal is to spread the message of ‘adopt, don’t shop’ and the life-saving programs that we have at the shelter.”
The casual party also featured a silent auction, raffles and entertainment by award winning DJ San-D.
