Humane Society Wellness Pop-up Clinic

North Gulfport residents had the chance to make sure their pets are in top shape for free on Saturday.

The Humane Society of South Mississippi held a wellness pop-up clinic for animal owners at the Lyman Community Center.

Vaccinations, microchips, and flea and tick prevention were a part of the wellness checkup for cats and dogs and spay and neuter vouchers were also available.

The clinic was made possible in part by a grant from the Petco Foundation.

Humane Society of South Mississippi Development Director Katie King said, “This is the first year we’ve been able to do this. We search for different grant opportunities in order to provide these free services to the community, so we’re really grateful to the Petco Foundation for giving us this opportunity to give back to the community, give back to the pets of the community and help keep them in their homes.”

The Humane Society plans to hold more pop-up clinics in the future.
