Humane Society Receives $5,000 Grant

It is clear South Mississippi has a soft spot for animals in need after a victory from an online vote to choose a charity to win a $5,000 grant.
It’s all a part of an Ad. In Advertising’s charity challenge. Every year Ad.In donates thousands of dollars of in-kind services to a local non-profit. This year they decided to involve the community to help them decide the recipient.
During the month of December, south Mississippians took to Facebook raising the money, nominating their favorite non-profits, and determining which one would win.
Humane Society officials say they were overwhelmed with the great response from the community. Katie King with the Humane Society said, “We’re going to put it towards hopefully revamping our website. It’s a little outdated and we’re just hoping to make it new and shiny and just draw some attention to the shelter.”
Ad.In Advertising Director of Business Development Michelle Harbison said, “One of the reasons the Humane Society was selected, first of all, was the number of nominations they received. They were very active on social media and had dozens of people nominating them. Also, they had a strong mission statement and served a large population.”
This is the first year Ad.In put on the charity challenge. They hope to continue to give back every year.
