Howell Trophy finalists announced

Each year, the Howell and Gillom trophies are given to the best men and women’s college basketball players in the state of Mississippi respectively. This year, Mississippi State dominates the field.
Starting on the men’s side, the Bulldogs are represented by sophomore Quinndary Weatherspoon. He leads the team in scoring and trails only six others in the SEC in that department.
Also up for the award is Ole Miss senior Sebastian Saiz, who is averaging a double-double for the season.
Then there is Delta State senior Devin Schmidt, the team’s leader in points, rebounds, helpers, and steals.
