Hope4Josh donor registration drive
Today, the Hope4Josh Foundation and Memorial Hospital at Gulfport hosted the inaugural Hope4Josh and Be the Match donor registration drive.
Hope4Josh is a nonprofit organization looking to bring chronic myelogenous leukemia and registry Be the Match awareness to the Gulf Coast.
Founder of Hope4Josh Michael Clough wants people to know that the actual process of stem cell transplant has grown significantly less painful over the years. “The majority of transplant done in the US now are done through peripheral blood stem cell transplant which is very similar to giving plasma and the only difference is that you do take a medication beforehand to prepare your body for it and it goes for about three to six hours.”
You will have another chance to register tomorrow at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Jefferson Davis campus health fair.
