Hope Haven Children’s Advocacy Center hosting school supply drive

Hope Haven Children’s Advocacy Center in Waveland helps a countless amount of children each day, but now they are asking for your help.

Hope Haven’s ‘Be a Hero’ Drive-Thru Supply Giveaway is set for July 18th. The center is in need of donations to help give children in need free school supplies and uniforms.

If you would like to make a donation to help give the kids the supplies they need to succeed in school you can go online to Hope Haven’s Facebook page to find the Amazon wish list of supplies.

The back to school drive thru is taking the place of Hope Haven’s ‘Annual Children’s Health Fair’ in light of COVID-19. Isabelle Hall with Hope Haven Children’s Advocacy Center said, “Due to COVID, we can’t have a big event like that. So, we still wanted to make sure we could do something for the students in our area, especially since things are so chaotic with back to school this fall. So, we came up with the back to school drive-thru. It’s a minimal contact event and students will still be able to get the backpack and school supplies. We are giving out a select number of uniforms as well. We know these things are financial burdens anyway in the fall and this year with COVID challenges.”

If you would like to register to receive school supplies go to hopehavencac.org or find them on Facebook.
