Homicide Investigation Ongoing in Jackson County

A body was discovered by a Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy in the St. Andrew’s area early this morning. A homicide investigation is underway.
Officer Chuck Fowler found the body on a dirt street off Cook Road just before 9 a.m. Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell says the victim did not have any identification on him and they are hoping to identify him. The man is a black male who looks to be in his late 20’s to early 30’s. He was wearing a plaid shirt and jean shorts. Investigators spent the day going door-to-door interviewing potential witnesses. The information was also sent to other law enforcement agencies looking for a possible missing person with hopes of identifying the man. “We have not identified who he is yet. Of course, we don’t have a lot to give out right now but if there’s anybody in the family that didn’t come home last night or something that you know, please give us a call,” said Sheriff Ezell.
The cause of death is undetermined at this time. The sheriff’s department is currently looking for a tan 2004 Chrysler Pacifica in connection to the homicide. It was last seen at 4 a.m. in Biloxi. The tag reads HJV942. Anyone with information is asked to call the Jackson County Criminal Investigations Division at 228-769-3065.
