Homeless Hope Raises Money for Burial Expenses of Veteran

Operation Homeless Hope is reaching out to provide a dignified burial to a recently deceased local veteran.

Army veteran, Oscar Davis, passed away in December 2014. Davis was homeless until a year ago when the Biloxi VA stepped in to get Davis into transitional housing. Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home has reduced burial expenses, but some money still needs to be raised to pay for the funeral. That’s where Operation Homeless Hope has stepped in to raise money on BeeABacker, for his burial at the Biloxi National Cemetery.

James Bates of Gulf Coast Community Ministries says, "We all deserve dignity in life and in burial. You know, it’s very important to make sure members of our community, whether they’re homeless or not, feel that they’re loved and people care about them."

If you would like to donate to Davis’ burial, go to www.gulfcoastbeeabacker.com and search ‘Oscar Davis.’ Any donation, small or large, is accepted.
