Home drug raid in Gulfport leads to felony arrest
Handguns, an AK-47, and a variety of narcotic drugs are off the streets today after an overnight drug bust in Gulfport.
Thirty-two year-old Dwan Durrell Parnell is now behind bars and facing a number of charges after a search of his home by the Gulfport Narcotics Unit and other law enforcement.
During the search of Parnell’s home on East Railroad in Gulfport, authorities found and confiscated three handguns, an AK-47 rifle, methamphetamine, cocaine HCL, and a bunch of drug paraphernalia.
They believe Parnell was selling the narcotics. This isn’t the first time Parnell has had a run-in with the law. He has past drug and gun convictions and was a wanted fugitive by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Parnell is now charged with four counts of possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, trafficking methamphetamine, and possession of a cocaine base with the intent to sell.
He’s being held at the Harrison County Jail on a $90,000 bond.
