Holiday air travel on the Coast
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, people across the Coast and the country are taking to the skies to get to their destination.
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday afterwards are two of the busiest days of the year for the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
While airport operations have run smoothly today, travelers are encouraged to arrive to the airport early in order to get through ticketing and TSA security screenings throughout the holiday week.
Passengers should be aware of larger crowds at connecting airports as well. Teckie Hinkebein with the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport said, “We have lots of passengers that fly out. We also have a significant number of passengers that fly in whether its casino charters, we have a great tourism destination so we see both.”
Passengers should be familiar with their airline’s individual rules and regulations.
