Hog Fest 2016 Set for Saturday
Tomorrow Governor Phil Bryant will be on the Coast for one of the largest charity motorcycle events of the year. This is the fifth annual Home of Grace Hog Ride.
The bikes will rev up around 9 a.m. in Pascagoula where they’ll begin at Singing River Island, taking a 40 mile ride along the beaches of Mississippi. The ride will finish up at First Baptist Church in Gulfport where live music, food and a special presentation by Governor Bryant and the Home of Grace will take place.
Admission is free to the public. Visitors are welcome to arrive early to greet bikers as they arrive at the festival.
Todd Trenchard with the Bacot-McCarty Foundation said, “As you get it out, you start breaking down the barriers that this is something that we don’t talk about. Actually people are admired today to step forward and say I’ve got a problem, I need help. It wasn’t that way 19 years ago. There was a stigma attached to it. It’s neat to see how that’s changed. it is neat to see that once people go through the Home of Grace or any facility, they want to give back.”
The Home of Grace reaches over 40,000 men and women, providing over $1 million in scholarships each year.
