Hitchhiker Stabs Driver with Syringe in D’iberville

Police are looking for the man who stabbed a Good Samaritan this morning with a syringe.
According to D’iberville police, the victim had picked up a hitchhiker around 7 a.m. off Highway 67, just north of the Promenade Shopping Center. As the driver stopped to drop off the hitchhiker at D’iberville Boulevard, police say the hitchhiker stabbed him with a syringe and took off west on Popps Ferry.
The driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. No word yet on what, if anything, was in the syringe.
The suspect is described as a black male with a medium build who was wearing black gloves, dark pants, a yellow shirt, a dark jacket and knit hat.
