Hiller Park splash pad undergoing repairs
The Hiller Park splash pad was recently closed due to damaged equipment that needed to be repaired. Trash and mud covered the area and put the splash pad out of business for one day.
According to Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Vincent Creel, residents were damaging the equipment by putting mud inside the water attractions after having to replace them twice.
The water features will be different in a way that is less susceptible to vandalism and a new drainage system has been installed.
Creel says the Hiller Park location has only been open for two months and the community should start taking care of the facility. “If you look at it, if these problems persist, particularly out at Hiller Park, well the city’s going to have to curve the number of hours that it’s open or it could close if it becomes too much of a hindrance to the county and the city.”
The Hiller Park splash pad will continue to be open while the work takes place. There are three splash pads located in Biloxi and all areas are open every day from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
