High water levels lead to road closures across the Gulf Coast
As a result of high-water levels, officials across the Coast have announced some road closures.
In Harrison County, officials are issuing a flood warning for the Wolf River and Biloxi River. Certain parts of local roads along the rivers are now closed, including short stretches of Cable Bridge Road at the Wolf River, Shaw Road at the Little Biloxi River, and River Road along the Biloxi River.
Work crews have spent the morning in these areas posting road closure signage for drivers.
In Hancock County, some roads in the Jourdan River Shores neighborhood are closed Tuesday due to rising river levels there.
Hickory Road was also closed Tuesday morning and a bridge on Wendell Ladner Road has been put out of service due to the water.
In Picayune, parts of North Beech Street, North Loften Avenue, and Washington Street are closed Tuesday due to rising water levels from the Hobolochitto Creek.
As always, proceed with caution on local roads near waterways. When in doubt turn around.
