High School Girls Basketball: Pass Christian vs. Greene County

As fate would have it, the same officiating crew that called last night’s Gulfport Biloxi boys playoff game also called tonight’s Pass Christian-Greene County girls playoff game. What they both have in common is overtime.

Pass playing host to the Lady Wildcats, second round action in the 4A bracket.

Pass Christian wins it 52-51 and heading to the 4A quarterfinals for the very first time in 12 years Greta Ainsworth has been the head coach. “It’s very shocking. It’s crazy. We’re excited that we won. We’re going to the next round. We put in a lot of work trying to get here. We fought all the way through.”

Head Coach Greta Ainsworth said, “It means a lot, a great deal. In my 12 years here, we’ve never made it past this game. This is the first time that we’ve made it past this game, and my birthday is on Monday so I told them all I wanted for my birthday was to be playing basketball in Jackson and I know if any group of girls can do it, this group can.”

One more win sends the Lady Pirates to the Big House.
