Gulfport wins 2-0.
Gulfport Head Boys Soccer Coach Henrik Madsen said, “I mean it just means everything to the boys for all the work that they’ve put into it, the running in the off-season and all the weightlifting that we do to finally get the reward. This is why they work so hard all year to get to this point.”
Durron Myers said, “We just stuck to it and then we worked hard all season to go to state and we knew we were the better team, we just had to work like it. We knew we had to work hard and finish it out.”
Gannon Key said, “I couldn’t have done it without my defense, they’re the best on the Coast. And we’ve proven that and we’re going to bring it to Jackson and hopefully come home with a ring.”
Gulfport draws Madison Central in the 6A title game at 6 p.m. Saturday from Ridgeland.
St. Stanislaus defeats Pass Christian 3-2. Long Beach defeats West Jones 3-0.
