High School Boys Basketball: Biloxi vs. Gulfport
When the boys basketball teams from Gulfport and Biloxi get together during the regular season, it usually feels like a playoff game.
Except this time, it actually is a playoff game in the form of a second round 6A clash.
Gulfport punches their ticket to the quarterfinals, defeating Biloxi 51-49. Gulfport Forward Jacob Snell said, “Absolutely. We’ve lost to Biloxi I think two years second round, so yeah, it’s nice to have this.”
Gulfport Guard Jacob Stevenson said, “During the whole game I really wasn’t knocking down shots so I had to stay motivated and I hit it when we needed it and we ended up winning the game. That’s really all that matters. I’m just happy right now. I’m just happy. We just won and they put us out last year, so this one means a lot.”
Gulfport Head Boys Basketball Coach Owen Miller said, “You just enjoy the moment, man. This is why we do this. You can’t pay – there’s no price you can pay to get that feeling, and for some of these guys, you only get it a couple times in life as it relates to basketball and this was one of those nights.”
Next up for the Admirals, they’re getting the winner of Oak Grove and Terry in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
