Henrik Madsen resigns as Gulfport head boys soccer coach

It’s a bittersweet time for the Gulfport boys soccer program, coming off back-to-back 6A state championships, but now without a head coach.

Announced today by Gulfport athletics, Henrik Madsen has resigned from his post after nine years as head man of the Admirals.

Madsen hasn’t publicly disclosed what his next move will be, but details should become available within the coming days or weeks.

During his time at Gulfport, Madsen led the Admirals to those two state titles in addition to eight Region 8 district titles and a winning percentage of more than 71 percent.

Gulfport Athletic Director Bryan Caldwell says the search for the program’s next head coach will begin immediately.
