Biloxi’s Health Department Office Shuts Down
Harrison County Supervisors are voicing their concerns over doors permanently closing at Biloxi’s Health Department District Office.
According to the Mississippi State Department Of Health, a total of nine county health departments closed at the beginning of 2016.
This stems from a lack of people using their offered services.
Approximately 35 full-time employees and 29 contract workers lost their jobs as a result.
District 5 Supervisor Connie Rocko tells News 25 the health department closing worries her especially because of the large number of restaurants and casinos on the gulf coast which need proper inspections.
