Head Boys Basketball Coach Tommy Searight steps down at West Harrison

According to multiple sources, a developing situation at West Harrison High School. Today, Head Boys Basketball Coach Tommy Searight tenured his resignation just three days before his Hurricanes were scheduled to play a first-round playoff game at Oak Grove.

Allegations have been circulating on social media. However, nothing has been confirmed with News 25. Both his Facebook and Twitter accounts have been deleted.

Neither Coach Searight nor officials from the Harrison County School District have returned our calls.

Searight was named head coach in May 2017 after winning a playoff game as the interim head coach earlier that season.

He proceeded to lead West Harrison to the postseason in three out of the next four years including this year after coming back from 10 points down to knock off Hancock in last week’s Region 8 Class 6A Tournament.
