Harrison County State of the County Address

Harrison County is sound and moving forward: that was the message by current Harrison County Board of Supervisor’s President Connie Rockco at today’s State of the County address.
Government officials from across the county packed into the IP as Supervisor Rockco laid out how far the county has come since Hurricane Katrina. She also highlighted projects the county has in store to continue their growth.
The event was put on by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce in an effort to keep the public in contact with their elected officials.
“Well, I think it’s very important for people to know what their elected officials are doing with their tax dollars, so that was very important,” said Rockco, “And then, I wanted to let everyone know where we had been, take a look. You know, when you’re in the day to day drudgery of trying to work your way out of something like Katrina, it’s nice to kind of take a moment, take a deep breath and then take an actual look at where you were ten years ago and where you are today.”
Tomorrow, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a political hobnob in Long Beach featuring Mayor Billy Skellie and Harrison County Supervisor Marlin Ladner.
