Harrison County Smoking Ban

Soon, it may be illegal for Harrison County residents to smoke on any property owned by the county.
Today, the Harrison County board of supervisors had the first reading of the possible ordinance, which would ban smoking on any property owned or leased by Harrison County. Board supervisors will take a second look at the ordinance at next month’s meeting. At that point, the ordinance could go into effect as early as that day.
Although it may inconvenience some residents, supervisors feel the ban is necessary for the health of everyone. However, the new ordinance will still allow residents to smoke in designated areas.
