Harrison County Fire Leaves Two Firefighters Injured

Six people escaped safely from an early morning fire in Harrison County, but two firefighters had to be treated for heat related injuries.
The fire broke out around 7:30 this morning at a home in the 1500 block of Northup Cuevas Road. Harrison County Fire Marshal Pat Sullivan tells News 25 that the six people in the home were sleeping when the fire broke out. They woke up and got out of the house when they smelled smoke and saw flames. All six escaped without injury.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one end of the house, but two fire fighters were treated for heat related injuries- one at the scene, the other was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Harrison County, Lizana and CRTC Air guard firefighters were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
