Harrison County Family Escapes Fire
One Harrison County family is lucky to be alive after their house caught fire last night.
Harrison County Fire Department, CRTC and West Harrison Fire volunteers arrived shortly before 9 to the scene of a house in flames on Giani Road. Homeowners say they had a pot of grease on the stove, went outside for a second and got distracted. When they came back, the house was full of smoke and the fire traveled from the kitchen into the living room.
The couple, along with their nine-month-old, was able to escape with no injuries. Harrison County fire officials say the home is no longer livable. The home did have a smoke detector but it was not working.
