Harrison County Fair opens

If you’re looking to get a fun head start on your weekend look no further than the Harrison County Fair in Gulfport.

The fair officially opened this morning as vendors and fair employees began setting up for this weekend’s food, rides, and rodeos. Harrison County Fair Secretary Kristina Kelehar says the rain delayed set up a little bit, but they’re all hands on and excited to see everyone come out.

Kelehar says they’re expecting about 33,000 people this weekend and have plenty of free activities for kids as well as carnival rides starting at 5 p.m. tonight. “We’ve gotten bigger and we’ve expanded. We have free rodeo on Saturday and Sunday mornings and then we’ve got the NCRPA rodeo in the evening times. We have free stuff for the kids, free bounce houses, free crafts, free entertainment, and then we have the 4H that’s going on, mega-monster trucks, hot-air balloons, definitely bigger and better than you’ve seen.”

Admission to the Harrison County Fair is free and the fair goes on until Sunday.
