Harrison County Fair Kicks off September 7th

We are just two days away from the first Harrison County Fair in over 80 years.
On Wednesday, the fair is set to take over the Harrison County Fairgrounds. Wednesday will be Christian Night where local church choirs and concerts will be performing.
From Wednesday to Sunday, each night will feature something different from pageants to hot air balloon rides, 4H exhibits and a rodeo opening Friday, along with concerts featuring Southern Halo and Frank Foster.
Fair organizers tell News 25 there will be something for everyone during the five day fair, including a special ceremony on Sunday. Justin Skinner with the Harrison County Fair Association said, “We’re going to have on Sunday, the 9/11 Memorial Tribute. All of our law enforcement, first responders, military and veterans and we’ll also have the 5D barrel run that day as well. We’re going to be doing a 9/11 flag raising ceremony that morning with the Boy Scouts, kinda like sing the national anthem and a prayer at the flag.”
The fair is still looking for volunteers. For more information on volunteering and a list of events, check out the fair’s Facebook page by searching Harrison County Fair on Facebook.
