Harrison County Fair Attended by Thousands

The numbers are in and needless to say, the first Harrison County Fair since the 1930s was an absolute success.
The five day fair chock full of food, music and fair fun took over the Harrison County Fairgrounds earlier this month. Final numbers show well over 40,000 fairgoers took in everything there was to offer.
Thousands came every day, but the most came on Saturday where 22,000 people came out. This is a number that greatly exceed the expectations of everyone involved. Greg Whitfield with Harrison County Fairgrounds said, “It was beyond expectations. We feel like we put on a real good show. Everybody had a good time and it was a great atmosphere and that’s all we could ask for. As long as everyone had good, family fun. It was free to everyone to come on out, we’re glad that everyone came out and participated in it.”
Fair organizers say they are eager to make next year’s fair bigger and better.
