Harrison County Board of Supervisors Discuss BP Settlement

With today’s announcement of the BP settlement, counties across the Gulf Coast are most likely putting together a list of what areas they would like to improve with the funds.
Harrison County Board of Supervisors called a special meeting today but could not discuss what exactly was said behind closed doors. Harrison County Board Attorney Tim Holleman did tell News 25 they were happy to hear about the anticipated agreement BP made with Mississippi.
“Well, I can’t comment on what the meeting was about but obviously the county is pleased with announcement by the state that they’ve reached a comprising settlement with the BP claims,” said Holleman.
Mississippi will receive a grand total of $2.2 billion of compensation from the 2010 oil spill.
