Harrison County Board of Supervisors Approve Plans for Boat Ramp and Park

Within the next year, the people of west Biloxi will have a new boat ramp and public park to enjoy.
Today, the Harrison County Board of Supervisors approved the construction for roadway improvements needed for the park and boat launch, which will sit on the old Treasure Bay property along Highway 90. Construction of the park and boat launch is expected to begin shortly.
Supervisors tell News 25 this has been a project years in the making and today was an exciting day to finally put this plan into motion.
Harrison County District 1 Supervisor Windy Swetman III said, “It’s very rewarding today to know that we’ve been able to get it done, that Harrison County is going to move forward now with this boat launch and park, which is phase one of our master plan and that is a Biloxi boardwalk that will go from HWY 90 all the way from Rodenburg along the businesses, creating pedestrian synergy and economic development.”
A $2.4 million application for tideland funds is going to the state in order to help pay for the implementation of the boardwalk.
While the boat ramp and park will take about 12 months, the entire boardwalk project looks like it will take 3-4 years.
