Harrison Co. Gets First Female School Board President
She has been a law enforcement officer for two decades and a majority of her work as a law enforcement officer was spent as a school resource officer. She says spending time in the schools daily gave her a good training ground for working with school administrators, students, and parents, and that’s where her interest in schools began.
Wiggins says, "We’ve got a lot of growth going on in the county. We’re seeing more students and our classrooms are filling up fast, so we’re going to have to make some adjustments there and put some long term plans there as far as longevity and what we’re going to be able to do long term and of course, as always, we’ve got to set the goal high as far as curriculum and quality."
Wiggins says she looks forward to bettering the quality of education in Harrison County. She will be leading her first school board meeting Monday, January 19th.
