Harper McCaughan Elementary 4th annual Veterans Day Program

It’s red, white, and blue for students at Harper McCaughan Elementary School today as they say thank you to our veterans.

Teachers, students, and their military families participated in the school’s fourth annual Veterans Day Program.

Students created the decorations for the event, performed the National Anthem, and even wrote their own speeches in honor of our veterans.

Sixth graders Maddie Cripple and Isabella Ryan spoke at the event and tell News 25 what they wrote about. Isabella said, “My speaking part was mostly about how most likely public places should put out more American flags on Veterans Day to let them know they respect them more.”

Maddie said, “A hero is not something that means you have big muscles or a cape or speed lightning, but it means you’re doing something you believe in.”
