Hard Rock Employees Pack Bags of Food for Kids

Seven hundred and twenty bags of food packed by Hard Rock Casino employees will feed 20 Biloxi Junior High students for the rest of the school year.
Snacks included in the bag are easy to make with no risk of kitchen dangers, such as stove fires and sharp knives. Each bag is stocked with two breakfast kits, a meat stick, PB&J squeezers, chicken noodle soup and chicken Alfredo.
Many volunteers worked on their off time to help stuff these bags with food, all for a good cause. Hard Rock Executive Director of Human Resources Maria Johnson said, “We usually have about 20 to 25 employees that like to do this every year. It doesn’t take very long to do it. We do it in an assembly line and it gives them warmth to know that they’re helping the community.”
The Bay Area Food Bank provides the food for this back-packing event. School administrators reach out to the food bank if they see students in need so these food bags can be delivered to needy students at the school.
