Harbor Lights New Year’s Eve at Jones Park

Christmas might be a wrap but the city of Gulfport is still going strong with their Harbor Lights show.
The Jones Park Winter Festival brought in over 40,000 viewers from the Gulf Coast as well as Jackson, New Orleans, and Mobile. Before the lights shut down on January 3rd, families still have the chance to see the lights dance on New Year’s Eve.
Officials tell News 25 they have their fingers crossed and are hopeful for sunny skies despite the predicted rain. City of Gulfport Public Information Officer Chris Vignes said, “New Year’s Eve, we’ll continue to monitor the weather. We’ll make any decisions that day and keep people updated through our Facebook page on City of Gulfport Mayor’s Office or The Gulfport Harbor Lights Winter Festival page but again, we’re looking forward to it. We’re optimistic and we’re hopeful and invite everybody out.”
If the weather is clear of any rain, the festival will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve at Jones Park. The lights are scheduled to come down January 3rd.
