Hancock County students presented heroism award after helping bus driver
HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Five Hancock County middle school students were recognized after school leaders said their quick thinking helped save their bus driver during an asthma attack on an evening route.
The students were presented with the Youth Peace and Justice Foundation’s Youth Heroism Award during a special school pledge ceremony.
School leaders said the students remained calm, worked together, and helped protect their driver and fellow classmates during the emergency situation.
The foundation said the award recognized courage, leadership, and selfless actions shown in a moment of crisis.
The ceremony served as a reminder that leadership and heroism can come from even the youngest members of the community.
