Hancock County Senior Citizen Prom

Hancock County senior citizens danced the afternoon away at the Bay St. Louis Community Center.
The senior prom committee and dozens of other senior citizens went dancing at the canteen during the WWII themed event. The prom was free to any senior citizen in Hancock County with the contribution of a non-perishable food donation to the Hancock County Food Pantry.
Everyone enjoyed the prom with dancing, food, party favors, and photos. Hancock County Senior Prom Co-chairman Barbara Huet said, “They all look forward to it and it goes beyond that. They start days earlier thinking of what they are going to wear. Some dress in prom things and some follow the theme and some just dress in their Sunday clothes. So, anything goes, but can still enjoy all of those things and seeing all of their friends and just a get together.”
Special entertainment for the prom was provided by the musical trio The Victory Belles from the National WWII Museum in New Orleans.
