Hancock County man charged in burglary case

A Hancock County man is behind bars after police responded to a call about a burglary.

Daniel Joseph Carver, 43, is charged with burglary of a residence, said Bay St. Louis Chief Gary Ponthieux Jr.

According to a press release from Bay Police, officers responded Wednesday evening to a residence on Vine Circle regarding a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived about 4:34 p.m., they found the suspect, identified as Carver, inside the residence. He was arrested without incident.

Detectives found several items that the suspect allegedly packaged for removal, including several firearms, Ponthieux said in the press release.

Carver was taken to Hancock County jail. His bond was set at $100,000 set by Municipal Judge Stephen Maggio.
