Halloween Events in PascaGHOULa

Anyone looking to have a SPOOKtacular time this Halloween should look no further than Pascagoula!

Pascagoula Parks & Recreation will host the 2nd Annual Great Haunted Halloween Bicycle Tour on Thursday, October 30th. Join them for an evening ride along Pascagoula’s Historic Bike Trail and explore the neighborhoods of Pascagoula. There will be a contest for those who come in costume and decorate their bikes, and the winner will receive a free dinner when the ride stops at New York Pizza for dinner.

The Great Haunted Bicycle Tour will start at the Pascagoula Recreation Center, located at 2935 Pascagoula Street, and will depart at 5:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but attendees should bring money for the optional dinner at New York Pizza. Participants should also bring their own bike. Bike lights are required, and helmets are recommended.

In addition to the Great Haunted Halloween Bicycle Tour, Pascagoula Parks & Recreation will be hosting the Night of Horror Haunted House on Halloween night from 8:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. at the Pascagoula Recreation Center. Organizers and volunteers have gone all out in bringing the things which only exist in nightmares to life. Those brave enough to enter will tour twelve rooms of supernatural occurrences and paranormal phenomena.

There will also be a Kid-Friendly Zone at the Recreation Center at the same time as the Haunted House. The Kid-Friendly Zone will include face painting, arts and crafts, a cookie walk, and more! The Kid-Friendly Zone is open to children ages 3-8.

Admission to the Haunted House/Kid-Friendly Zone at the Recreation Center is $5.

Two long-standing Halloween traditions in the City of Pascagoula – the Krebs Cemetery Tour and Trunk-or-Treat – will not be held this year.

Trunk-or-Treat was created in 2005 to give children a safe alternative to trick-or-treating in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Pascagoula’s neighborhoods are now restored and can once again offer children a fun and safe atmosphere.

"Trunk-or-Treat has had a very successful run," said Main Street Board President, Michele Coats. "It helped us fulfill our goal of providing our children a safe place to enjoy Halloween night after Katrina, but it is now time to move forward. We are continuing to brainstorm ideas for new holiday events which will serve today’s Pascagoula."
