Habitual offender sentenced to 35 years

A Lucedale man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison on assault and kidnapping charges dating back four years ago.

Andrew Williams, 31, was sentenced to two counts of kidnapping in Jackson County in March 2018 and one count of aggravated domestic violence in George County in October 2015.

Williams assaulted his girlfriend at her home in Lucedale, repeatedly kicking and hitting her in the face until she became unconscious.

The kidnapping charges occurred when Williams got into an argument with a roommate for not paying rent. He beat up the roommate and another person inside the home before dragging both to the bathroom and tying them up with duct tape.

Williams is sentenced with 15 years to serve and 15 years on probation for the kidnapping charge and 20 years day-for-day on the aggravated assault charge.
