Habitat For Humanity Women Build Week

Men and women have been rolling up their sleeves this week to give back to the Bay-Waveland community.
Since Wednesday, community members from all walks of life have been helping restore three homes in Bayside Park in Bay St. Louis through the Habitat for Humanity Women Build. The build has been going on in the Bay-Waveland area since 2008.
Typically these groups build new homes, but this year after the previous Habitat home owners moved out, volunteers have been helping deep clean and paint the homes in preparation for a new family to move in. Construction and Volunteer Coordinator Holly Ladner said, “We couldn’t do any of it without them. Between the volunteers, the donors, we’ve got some businesses that donated lunches this week. We’ve got some military branches who have volunteered with us this week. Obviously, nothing could get done without them.”
This build is purposely scheduled to happen the week before Mother’s Day every year.
