Gulfport School District Superintendent among four nominees confirmed to education boards in

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – The Mississippi Senate has confirmed three people to the state Board of Education and one to the state Charter School Authorizer Board.

One of those confirmed to the nine-member Board of Education is the director of the Mississippi Association of School Administrators, Ronnie McGehee of Madison.

Another is Gulfport School District Superintendent Glen East.

Angela Bass of Jackson was also confirmed. She is director of the Mississippi Early Learning Alliance.

Kimberly Remak of Olive Branch was confirmed to the six-member charter school board. She is a nurse.

East and Bass were nominated by Gov. Tate Reeves. McGehee and Remak were nominated by Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann.
