Gulfport Police warn of impersonation scam claiming missed jury duty, fake arrest warrants
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Another law enforcement scam is making the rounds in Gulfport.
The caller for this scam poses as an officer and claims you missed jury duty, have an outstanding warrant, owe fines, or must make a payment to avoid arrest.
As always, the department will never demand payment over the phone.
They also don’t request payment through gift cards, prepaid debit cards, cryptocurrency, or payment apps.
