UPDATE: Two dead, one injured in shooting at Gulfport gas station

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Gulfport Police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead and another injured Tuesday afternoon at a local gas station.

Officers responded just after 1:30 p.m. to the Walmart Neighborhood Market gas station on Highway 49 North. When police arrived, they found three people with gunshot wounds.

According to Gulfport Police, two victims have died as a result of their injuries. A third victim is currently undergoing surgery at an area hospital.

Authorities say one person has been detained in connection with the incident. No additional information has been released at this time.
