Gulfport Police Department celebrates ‘National Coffee with a Cop Day’

Today is ‘National Coffee with a Cop Day’ and the Gulfport Police Department found the best way to celebrate this morning at Jones Park.

Alongside the Gulfport Harbor Farmer’s Markets and 105.9 the Monkey, police officers gathered around to chat with locals and enjoy a cup of coffee.

The coffee was supplied by Boozer’s Brew and a Café Too while donuts, or power rings as referred to by the officers, were also provided.

The event was a great way for Gulfport residents to get to know their officers and the Gulfport Police Department makes it their goal to always be involved in the community.  Gulfport PD Public Information officer Detective Jason Ducre said, “It gives us a chance to interact with our community. We had Boozer’s coffee here giving out free coffee. We had free donuts because you can’t have coffee without donuts or donuts without coffee. Farmer’s market was today and it was just a good way to promote our city and interact with the community.”
