Gulfport Parks and Recreation Public Forum

Have any ideas for the Gulfport Leisure Services Department? You have a chance for your voice to be heard.

Thursday evening a forum will be to allow citizens to give their thoughts on the future of parks, events, and all things leisure services within the city.

The open house will be at Orange Grove Community Center Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The city is currently at work on their master plan for the next five to ten years. This forum will make sure citizens have a voice within that plan. Gulfport PIO LaShaundra McCarty said, “It’s public space and it’s the city’s job to manage it and prepare it so that the citizens can actually use it. So they are actually partnering with the city in giving their thoughts and opinions. Here’s your opportunity to come to Orange Grove Community Center on Thursday night and let the department know what you think.”

The department will also touch on some events happening soon in the city including the ‘Daddy Daughter Dance’ and the ‘Senior Mardi Gras Mamba.’
