Gulfport Music Fest Could be Pushed Back to Fall

Concert goers will have to wait a little longer before they can attend the popular Gulfport Music Festival this year.

Alpha Media is expected to push the festival back until fall or later as part of a restructuring process. In October 2011, the Gulfport City Council voted in favor of a five year contract bringing the festival to Jones Park each year. Alpha Media is working on bringing A-list talent to the Coast at a low cost to concert goers.

Chris Vignes, Public Information Officer for Gulfport, says, “We’re excited to continue working with the Gulfport Music Fest. We’re currently looking at further dates as they look at possibilities of doing it at a different time of year. We’ve had a great relationship with them. Last year was amazing. The fest has gotten bigger and better each year and we look forward to having it.”

Notable artists who have performed on the fest’s main stage include Maroon 5, Neon Trees, Gym Class Heroes, and Kid Rock.
